Rama Cay Experience

A twenty-minute boat ride can take you a world away when you visit the island of Rama Cay. The island is the home of the indigenous Rama indians, an ancient people who still hold much of their old culture and traditions.

You will have the opportunity to talk to the natives of the island and learn about their customs and history while exploring the island itself. The Moravian church, Despedida Point, Dead Man Rock and the South End are all points of interest, as well as the cemetery on the mainland.

Take advantage of this rare opportunity to experience one of the few remaining indigenous communities left in Nicaragua and come away with a new appreciation for the simple life.

From Rama Cay we will stop by the ecofarm Green Hills to have lunch. It is a great place to connect with nature and relax or to take a hike through the trails that course through the area or try our luck fishing in a nearby river.
