‘Tis the holiday season, which means Starbucks eggnog lattes, Christmas carols ad nauseum in every store, and the first few lovely feet of snow in Tahoe! It also means good cheer, offsetting your carbon footprint, and charity to all (especially to your friends’ nonprofit organizations!).
I wanted to introduce you to blueEnergy, the non-profit organization I have been working for since 2008. At blueEnergy, we believe that all people deserve an opportunity to improve their life and the lives of their family. We believe this opportunity means having access to energy, clean water and other basic services that form the foundation of a healthy, productive life.
This holiday season, blueEnergy and myself are committed to raising substantial funds by December 31st for blueEnergy’s “Gift of Light” campaign to bring electricity to the organization’s beneficiaries in Nicaragua who have no other access to it. To read more about how access to energy is saving lives in Nicaragua and how your donation can make a difference, please click HERE.
Would you please consider making a fully tax-deductible donation to help us connect people to life-saving services like energy? I completely understand that this year has been difficult on everyone’s wallets so please do not feel pressured to contribute. However, please keep in mind that no contribution is too small. Whether it’s $10, or if possible, a larger sum, every contribution makes a difference and can really add up! See below for details on how to donate.
Clean water for a family of 5: $120
Electricity (20wp) for a family of 6: $410
Electricity (200wp) for a community school: $2500
Better health, greater wealth, and increased access to education: PRICELESS
